Our programs

Ages we match. Homes stay mixed-age.

Centres split children into infant, toddler, and preschool rooms. Family day homes keep a small mixed-age group. We still match by age so the house has the right infant mix, the right hours, and an educator who can teach close. Exact numbers follow Alberta family day home rules.

Under 12 months

Infants

Feeding, sleep, and being held in a home that already passed an agency visit. Not a nursery wing of a centre.

  • Sleep in a real crib or approved sleep space, with checks written down.
  • One-on-one feeding and settling while older children play in sight.
  • Ratios follow current Alberta family day home rules for infants present.
Cartoon toddlers stacking blocks and playing with a wagon

12 months to 3 years

Toddlers

Walking, words, and first independence at a kitchen table and in a fenced yard—still in a mixed-age home.

  • Close teaching for new words, self-help, and hard feelings.
  • Short circles, then play. Toddlers are not parked in a toddler-only hallway.
  • Meals, outdoor time, and rest on a predictable rhythm.

3 to 5 years

Preschool

Stories, counting, and kitchen-table work that still leaves most of the day for play—before kindergarten.

  • Circle and table teaching small enough that every child can answer.
  • One-on-one when a skill or a feeling needs a lap.
  • Outdoor play and nature tables, not a desk row.
Cartoon school-age children playing soccer in a fenced backyard

Kindergarten to 9 years

School age

Before- and after-school care in an approved home when the educator’s hours and the school run match.

  • Homework at the table if they want it—play in the yard if they need it.
  • Not every home offers school-age space. We match hours, pickup, and the mix already in the house.
  • Ask on the enrol form if you need care around the school bell.
